Too bad we won't be able to set up near each other. The teams that aren't doing People's Choice (like us) are placed over in a different area of the park area. That way the people going around getting the People's Choice samples, can go from team to team that are competing in the People's Choice.

As far as space size, we paid the extra $$ last year for a larger spot since we have our travel trailer and smoker trailer. When we first got on site, the spot they tried to put me in had a little tree growing right in the middle of the space -- wouldn't work for us. So we moved over a couple of spots -- but nobody else around us paid extra. In fact the teams across from us actually had bigger spaces -- and didn't pay any extra for them.

that kind of sucks that they don't have to pay extra. You should ask the organizors why you hav eto pay extra.

Jim, you guys should stay the week and then do the Claremore competition the following weekend. This will be my first time to go to the Claremore competition. I've heard great things about it especially the venue -- in an RV park in the infield of the horse race track -- each team is placed on an RV pad with full hookups.

We are so ready for this competition -- it's our first one of the year and it's been way too long since our last one.

I am getting excited except for the long drive. Have been on 3D's and have planned on a couple of restuarants to hit. Should be able to make it to Souix City the first night. Then into Bixby thursday afternoon. If anything it should be a great time

Well today I will start to get everything together so it will be ready for Tuesday. Had to get a few things shipped direct to Gene. The rest of it I need to track down as I have been using some of my bbq equipment lately and still have not put it back. Planned our route and we plan to stop at to restuarants that were on Diners, drive ins and dives. first one is the BBQshack in Paola, KS and the other will be on the way back in Omaha called Brew Burgers.

Jim, that sounds like a great trip. We love DDD and look forward to hitting some of the places he's gone to.

I know exactly what you mean about pilfering stuff from the competition supplies. We were going through our packing list and are missing a lot of things that we have to round up.

The "staging area" has been set up in the garage so we can start gathering things up.
