Dang Jim, sounds like you have lots to do to get ready for Bixby. Might as well just build you a new smoker while you are in the shop.

I've been waiting for almost a year to get with my neighbor/steel guy to have him build my platform for my smoker trailer. I sure wish I had the talent and skills (and equipment) to weld this thing up myself.

I posted over on the other thread about the distance to Robert's. But he's about 15-20 miles from the event venue. I saw that you may have Gene fly in early and go by and get some wood. That should be interesting seeing Gene in a little Chevy Aveo with a load of fire wood.

Well got quit a bit done today. Pulled out the main pin that holds the firewood storage boxes together and got that ground out then reassembled it to find out i needed more ground out. So that is finished, got the water tank mounted, painted the under carriage so it is ready for the checker plate aluminium. Will not get the cutting board material in for several weeks. Installed the pit temp probe in a new location so I got a fair bit done. I will wash it and then bring home tomorrow for the saturday cook.

We would probably be seeing Gene on another picture with him loaded up with all the wood.
